I would like to bring ip the want for sheds at the next meeting. There are many people who are in favor of this and as long as they are tasteful. It doesn't seem like it should be such a big deal
ReplyDeleteHello this is the secretary for the association. The covenant specifically states we can not have any out buildings of any kind. If we want to change the covenant Iran be done but there’s a process which is very involved and in order to make the official change it has to be voted on by the association as a whole and must pass with a 2/3 approval. The board would be happy to discuss this matter with you and how the whole process has to happen. There are a few items people would like to have amended in the covenant we just need someone to spear head all the leg work it takes to get this too an actual vote to the community. You can contact our association President Michael Ensign or myself Jeremy Maidment to discuss further.
ReplyDeleteI am also in favor of sheds. In fact, reading the covenents suggests that sheds are currently allowed and changes would have to be made to prohibit them. It reads "No structure of a temporary character, such as, ... out building shall be used as a residence on any lot at any time." It explicitly prohibits use "as a residence." It does not prohibit use for other purposes, thus implicitly permitting other uses. And where is the line between something like a large locker/cabinet and shed? I've certainly seen several things that look like outbuildings in the neighborhood.
